Ms. Pierson current works as Director of the Community Reinvestment Division at the United Planning Organization (UPO), where she oversees housing, tax preparation and transitional homeless services, along with the community revitalization efforts of UPO. Her eclectic career of over 30 years of management experience, has included managing a law firm, which specialized in real estate and business; heading business development consulting firm; and serving as general counsel to the Greater Washington Mutual Housing Association. In 2010, she started a firm, Sustainable Communities Development Co., LLC (SCDC) which was chosen to represent DC at a 2012 trade mission to Southern Africa featuring the development of sustainable housing. As a part-time endeavor, she moved the business to Prince Georges County and is now rehabbing houses there. She currently serves on the Vestry of her Church, Trinity Episcopal; is President of the Standing Committee for the Washington Diocese and a member of the Board of Directors for the Women of Color in Community Development.
