Crowns in the Garden: WCCD's Annual Sustaining Member Brunch

    Saturday, September 19

This year's annual Sustaining Member Brunch celebrates our 2026 theme, Supported Women, Strong Communities.

Crowns in the Garden is an afternoon dedicated to honoring the women whose leadership strengthens neighborhoods, organizations, and communities. Together, we'll celebrate WCCD's founders, recognize members and partners, reconnect with colleagues, and invest in the relationships that sustain our work throughout the year.

This year’s featured guest is Angel Gregorio, founder of The Spice Suite and Black and Forth. Through her work as an entrepreneur, commercial real estate developer, and community builder, Angel has created transformative opportunities for Black women-owned businesses and embodies the power of women of color shaping the future of community development.

Come dressed in your favorite garden-inspired attire and hat as we gather to celebrate the women whose leadership continues to bloom across our communities.

    Guests will enjoy:

    • Garden cocktail reception with signature cocktails, mocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live music, and networking
    • Three-course brunch
    • Recognition of WCCD founders, Sustaining Members, sponsors, and community leaders

    Registration

WCCD and African American Real Estate Professionals DC (AAREP DC) invite you to an evening spotlighting women shaping the future of construction, engineering, design and real estate development.

Through a dynamic panel conversation, Built By Her will explore emerging opportunities across the industry, leadership and ownership, access to capital and partnerships, and pathways for women to grow from contributors to decision-makers, business owners and industry leaders.

The evening will also feature dedicated networking time with professionals from across the industry.
